Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Top MLB Prop Bets for August 31st

Matt Olson high-fiving teammates after hitting a HR against the Marlins

After a great night on Monday, we followed it up with a little bit of a clunker on Tuesday. Mark Canha did pick up a hit which ended up being our only win of the night and George Kirby dominated for the Mariners, but only went 5 innings. As for the favorites parlay, The Braves lost outright and a starter got scratched for the second straight day throwing a wrench into the Rays game. Long story short, favorites parlays should be only on occasion. Betting on FanDuel again today where you can get yourself $150 in free bets win or lose when you place your first $5 wager. Astros vs Rangers Alt. 1st Half Under 3.5 (+114)

There’s day baseball, have to get in a play on it. Two really good pitchers throwing today in Christian Javier and Martin Perez going up against lineups dealing with a quick turnaround. The status of Yordan Alvarez still looks like it’s up in the air as he’s been dealing with a hand issue the last few days.

The Astros offense as a whole has been a little slowed down recently, they’re averaging just 2.0 runs per game over their last 4 outings. Javier and Perez both own ERAs under 2.00 and WHIPs under 1.20 through 115.0+ IP. Lets root for some outs.

Padres 1st Half Result (+100) vs Giants

Guess what, we have MORE day baseball today! The Padres and Giants wrap up their series with a 12:45pm PT first pitch. So far the Padres have taken the first two games of the series against the Giants two best pitchers in Carlos Rodon and Logan Webb and they cashed their 1st Half result in the first game.

The pitching matchup today is heavily tilted in the direction of San Diego for the first time this series. Joe Musgrove goes against Alex Wood. Wood has been rocked in the month of August. He’s allowed a combined 15 ER in his last two starts and 6+ ER in 3 of his 5 August starts. Musgrove hasn’t been great in his last 5 starts, but for sure better than Wood and has the better lineup behind him.

Matt Olson Hit (-230) Bet 5u to win 2.15u & HR (+255) Bet 1u to win 2.55u

Olson is 0 for his last 7 entering tonight’s game, but has a wonderful matchup against Rockies RHP Ryan Feltner. The Braves first baseman is hitting around .250 and has slugged 22 or his 27 HR against righties this season. Feltner comes into tonight’s start allowing well over a hit/inning and having given up a HR in five consecutive starts. He has pretty even splits against right and left-handed batters and is getting smashed on the road to the tune of a 6.19 ERA with an opponents BA of .308.

Going all-in with Olson may be risking but the matchup screams value. It also makes too much sense to back up a HR bet with him to get a hit. He had to be included in out top MLB prop bets for August 31st.
