Thank you Brian! Brian’s two player props saves yesterday from being a total disaster as Matt hit a run of bad luck with the game props. The Marlins held a one-run lead in the bottom of the 5th, looking ready to take that 1st Half ML, then the Phillies picked up a 2-run 5th while Dylan Cease dealt for the Sox, but the offense put in easily their best performance of the season blasting two 1st Inning HRs en route to a 14-2 win. Whoops! Onto Friday where we have ourselves a full slate of Major League Baseball. Top MLB Prop Bets for September 9th
Giants 1st Half Result (-105, FanDuel) vs Cubs
Both teams come into this matchup struggling. The Giants and Cubs have each lost 4 of their last 5 games, and San Francisco is coming off being swept by the Brewers. What the Giants have going for them though, is their ace on the mound.
For as disappointing as San Francisco has been, Carlos Rodon has been amazing. He’s recorded quality starts in 4 of his last 5 starts and had double digit strikeouts in 3 of those outings. Rodon and his sub-3.00 ERA take on a Cubs offense that has scored 3 or fewer runs in 3 of their last 4 games and is 6th in baseball in team strikeouts. At close to even money, let’s add the Giants to our top MLB prop bets for September 9th.

Bryce Harper Hit (-240, FanDuel) 5u to win 2.1u & Over 0.5 RBI (DraftKings) 3u to win 4.35u & HR (+470, Caesars) 2u to win 9.4u
I’m going big on Bryce tonight and quite honestly, you could probably throw a dart at the Phillies lineup and find value. They’re facing Patrick Corbin and the Nats who have been horrendous on the mound this season. As a matter of fact, Philadelphia has been Corbin’s biggest issue in 2022, as he’s allowed 13 hits, 15 runs, and 4 HR during his two starts that lasted a combined 4 innings!
Bryce hasn’t exactly returned with a bang, figuratively and literally, after his long absence as he’s 11-for-42 (.262) with zero HR and just 4 RBI in the 12 games since returning. That can all change tonight against his former team who Harper has destroyed the last two seasons batting .421 with 7 round-trippers and 16 RBI in 21 games. One more reason these are on our list of top MLB prop bets for September 9th, Bryce has never gone yard off Corbin and he’s way overdue for HR, having not hit one over his last 25 games played.
Dustin May Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-158, Caesars) 3u to win 1.89u
This number is clearly an overreaction to his last outing against the Padres. In just his third outing since returning from surgery, May walked 5, gave up 2 HR, and 6 total runs in five innings, but he still struck out 5 Padres. It was by far the worst showing of his three starts so far, and I highly doubt San Diego replicates that offensive performance.
Dustin was still able to go over this prop in that game, and his only start where he didn’t this year, was just his second coming off surgery. Big Red has made five starts against the Friars since 2020 and struck out 5+ in four of them. I’m pretty confident he’ll add another such game tonight.
