The NFL preseason is just about underway but it’s still baseball season for me, and pennant races are heating up. The Seattle Mariners have been one of the hottest teams since July and they got better at the trade deadline. I went to PropSwap to shop for some value and found a couple worth while futures on them. Seattle Mariners to Win 2022 AL Pennant – 19.50/1 & 23.75/1
The Mariners have won 23 of their last 34 games and just took two of three against the Yankees in the Bronx. The acquisition of Luis Castillo at the trade deadline has proved brilliant as he’s gone 14 ⅔ innings, allowed just 3 runs, and struck out 15 batters in his two starts with the team. Oh, and both of those were against the vaughnted Yankees by the way.
Seattle has the league’s top bullpen over the last month plus and their pitching staff is just now getting back to full strength. The teams’ top player this season Julio Rodriquez hasn’t played since July 30th but their offense is plenty dangerous without him. The biggest obstacles standing in the Mariners way for a pennant are the Yankees who they’re 3-2 against this season. And Houston, who Seattle finished 7-12 against but was outscored by just 8 runs over those 19 matchups. We all know that pitching is how you win in October and this team has plenty of it. This team is built for short series baseball/postseason play, and is has odds worthy of buying into. They’re 17/1 or shorter at every sportsbook so these tickets also present a nice value against the market.
