We hope all of you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and enjoyed the extra holiday off yesterday. There was a whole lot of movement in the MLB standings as both New York teams saw their division leads narrow with the Rays & Braves surging. The White Sox surged back into the AL Central race gaining 4 games on Cleveland and the Blue Jays created some separation from the Orioles in the Wild Card race. Back to the betting market Matt and I go. We’re getting our odds from FanDuel and BetMGM for today’s MLB action so check out our Top MLB Prop Bets for September 6th below.

Top MLB Prop Bets for September 6th
Yankees -1.5 (+112, FanDuel) vs Twins
Both teams haven’t been playing their best baseball as of late, but the Yankees were able to (at least for the time being) snap out of their skid in the opening matchup of this series with a 5-2 win. The Yankees have now won back to back games while the Twins have lost 4 of their last 5 outings. Gerrit Cole throws for the Yankees today, he’s recorded quality starts in 4 of his last 5 outings. The Twins throw Joe Ryan who was hit around pretty good in his last start against Boston. Both teams are struggling a bit here, but I trust the better lineup and the better starting pitcher which is also featured among our top mlb prop bets for September 6th in this one.

White Sox vs Mariners 1st Half Alt. Under 3.5 (+110, FanDuel)
The 1st Half total was bumped up to 4.5 for this one, and I’m not particularly sure why. The under 4.5 is at -160, so clearly no value there. The alt under 3.5 seems like the best value in this one. Johnny Cueto has been brilliant for the White Sox, he gets the start in Seattle against Logan Gilbert who’s had a great season himself. Gilbert’s stuff creates a bad matchup for the White Sox as well, his slider could create some issues for the White Sox righty-heavy lineup especially with their lack of plate discipline. I really like taking a chance on the alt under here with this pitching matchup.

Gerrit Cole Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-155, BetMGM) Bet 3u to win 1.94u
The Yankees ace hasn’t been striking out guys at the same rate as we’re used to but he leads baseball in total K’s and his 11.1 SO/9 rate ranks 4th. He’s gone over this prop in just ONE of his last four starts but will be looking for revenge against this Twins team who hit 5 HR off him back in May. Cole is more than capable of making even the best hitting teams look silly, and most sportsbooks have this prop listed at 7.5. I’ll lay the extra juice to get another K in my favor for a matchup that Gerrit has probably been looking forward to.
Austin Riley HR (+220, BetMGM) Bet 1u to win 2.20u & RBI (+100, BetMGM) Bet 2u to win 2u
Austin Riley has been incredible this season and is leading the Braves in Hits, HR, RBI, Slug %, and OPS while ranking 2nd on the team in Runs, BA, and OBP. He comes into tonight after snapping his HR streak at 4 straight, and he’s recorded at least 1 RBI in 7 of the team’s last 11 games. Cole Irvin starts for Oakland tonight, and this should have Riley foaming at the mouth in excitement.
Austin is crushing LHP this season, having a .364 BA, and a ridiculous Slug % of .763! Irvin got the best of him back in June, striking him out in all 3 ABs, but that may have been the turning point of Riley’s season. Over the 78 games since that matchup, Riley is hitting over .300, has a slug % of .600, hit 21 HR, and has 57 RBI. Just like Cole, revenge may be on his mind and I fully expect Austin to get it which is why he made our top MLB prop bets for September 6th.
