Best MLB Prop Bets: Top MLB Prop Bets for September 16th

Justin Verlander makes his return from the IL and finds himself on our Top MLB Prop Bets for September 16th

Now THAT is what we call a bounceback! After a rough 0-2 Wednesday, we bounced back with a 2-0 record Thursday on two of the easiest wins you’ll see. Lance Lynn was fantastic for the White Sox while the bats erupted for 5 HR in their afternoon game against the Guardians, downing their division rival 8-2 and cruising to a 1st Half result. Carlos Carrasco nearly DOUBLED what he needed to hit his over 5.5 Ks against the Pirates racking up 11 Ks in an easy 7-1 win. Play along with us by signing up with any of the welcome offers below. Let’s try and stay hot headed into the weekend with Brian and I’s Top MLB Prop Bets for September 16th.

Top MLB Prop Bets for September 16th

Guardians -1.5 (+158) vs Twins (Caesars)

I LOVE this value. The Twins are coming in fresh off a sweep of the Royals, but prior to that the Guardians swept Minnesota at Target Field. The pitching matchup today leans heavily toward the Guardians. Tristan McKenzie has been really good in his last seven starts. He’s got a 2.18 ERA and .188 BAA through that stretch. McKenzie also dominated the Twins in his start during that previous three game sweep going 7.0 scoreless innings.

While Minnesota is fresh off that sweep of the Royals, the Guardians have been playing really good baseball themselves and built up a 3-game cushion in the AL Central. They dropped yesterday’s makeup game with the White Sox 8-2, though they trotted out a spot starter against Lance Lynn. Prior to that, Cleveland had won 6 straight and currently they’re on a 8-2 run in their last 10. Let’s ride with Cleveland to stay hot.

White Sox Team Total Over 4.5 (+100) vs Tigers (Caesars)

While it was against a previously mentioned spot starter yesterday, the Sox bats got hot in Cleveland to the tune of 5 HRs. They cleared the TT Over 4.5 in just home runs alone yesterday. In the Sox last 8 games they’re averaging 6.3 runs per game. In that 8-game stretch, 5 games have been away from home and the Sox have averaged 9.8 runs per game in those road games. Matt Manning starts for the Tigers, he’s been fine this year but nothing spectacular. He’s allowed 11 ER combined in his last three starts though through 12.2 IP. Let’s ride with the White Sox hot bats on the road.

Justin Verlander Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-110, PointsBet)

Are we joking with this number? Prior to hitting the IL with a calf strain, Verlander had been on a roll striking out 6 or more batters in three of his last four starts including his last when he pitched only 3 innings. The veteran was and may still be the AL Cy Young front-runner, and comes into tonight sporting a 1.84 ERA, .855 WHIP, and over a strikeout per inning.

Justin has faced off against Oakland twice this season going 6+ innings in both starts while going over this prop on both occasions. Most of the A’s players first time facing Verlander came this season, and a veteran like him, will undoubtedly still have plenty of tricks to confuse the youngsters. Oakland is without question one of the two worst offenses in baseball and I’m not worried about Verlander’s stamina coming off his calf injury at all. There was no doubt, this prop would find it’s way onto our list of top MLB prop bets for September 16th.
