Just a 1-2 night last night, not our best. The White Sox offense couldn’t score despite having several chances with RISP early. Dylan Cease made just one mistake and that was enough to doom the Sox 1st Half result bet. We did cruise to the 1st Half under though as White Sox unders are becoming a thing. The Cubs and Reds got off to a hot start toward their over 9 with a 3-run 1st Inning, but the teams just combined for 3 runs the rest of the way. Mets -1.5 (+105) vs Phillies
It’s Max Scherzer on the mound with a plus-money run line at home. That’s too good of an opportunity to pass up. He opposes Ranger Suarez of the Phillies who’s been fine this season but nothing special. Both teams come into this one playing good baseball. The Mets have won 15 of their last 17 games extending their N.L. East lead to 7 games. After a bad start to the season, the Phillies have stormed back to the 2nd Wild Card spot and have won 12 of their last 14 games. I don’t love laying the extra run here, but it’s Scherzer at home with plus money. Scherzer was phenomenal in his last start throwing 7.0 IP, striking out 11 and allowing just 4 hits. Let’s take the ace.

Dodgers -2.5 (+105) at Royals
We go from two teams playing really well in the Mets & Phillies to two more teams playing well. The Royals are fresh off taking 3 of 4 vs the White Sox, and the Dodgers have won 10 in a row. Not only have the Dodgers won 10 straight, but they’ve covered -2.5 in ALL OF THEM. They’re playing incredible baseball. Tony Gonsolin was having an up and down second half, but last start out against the Padres tossed 5.0 scoreless innings and might be back on track. The Royals won those 3 of 4 against the White Sox, but the White Sox just couldn’t execute on several chances with RISP. The Dodgers won’t miss on those chances, at least not as much as the Sox did.
