NASCAR Odds, Picks, Predictions for Darlington: Who’s taming the Lady in Black?

Kevin Harvick racing at Dover

The Cup Series heads to Darlington Raceway for this weekends Goodyear 400 on Sunday at 3:30 pm et. The Lady in Black is a unique egg shaped track with high banking corners that only Homestead & Dover get close to matching. Before taking a dive into the Nascar Betting Odds for this week’s race, let’s check in on our betting card from last week.

It was another losing betting card for the Duramax Drydene 400. Overall, we went 1-3 for the race but made an improvement over the previous two where we went winless.

Duramax Drydene 400 Betting Recap
Cole Custer Top 10 +210L
Daniel Suarez -116 Over Brad KeselowskiW
Martin Truex Jr. to Win +1200L

We’re headed to the “Lady in Black” and another track that likes to chew up and spit out drivers. Let’s try and get back in the green with our Goodyear 400 betting card.

Nascar Odds, Picks, & Best Bet for the Goodyear 400 at Darlington

Top 10 Finish: Tyler Reddick -120

  • Has hid the skids the last two races finishing 39th at Dega and 30th last week at Dover
  • Had finished four of his previous six races this season 12th or better
  • Not the most impressive Darlington resume, but his worst finish is 23rd
  • Has finished all five Cup Series races on lead lap or just one lap down
  • Three straight 7th or better finishes here in Xfinity in 2018, 2019, 2021
  • Racing in Xfinity Series on Saturday & we’ve already seen how this has translated into success come Sunday

Driver Matchup: Denny Hamlin (-116) Over Chase Elliott

  • Elliott dominated the latter part and won last week’s race but..
  • Hamlin dominated early leading 67 laps and winning Stage 1 before serving a penalty for a loose tire coming out of pit row
  • Got all the way back up to 4th after before being a victim of someone else’s crappy driving
  • Still finished the race 21st
  • Elliott won and dominated the latter stages last week
  • Denny has a far better history at Darlington w/ 4 of last 5 races being Top 5 finishes including 2 wins
  • Elliott’s best finish here is 4th and he has just 2 top 10’s in last five races here
  • An even worse omen for Chase is he’s crashed in two of the last four at the “Lady in Black”

Outright: Kyle Larson +500

  • Worst Career Cup Series finish here is 14th
  • Four of the last five races at Darlington he’s finished Top 3
  • Three straight runner-up finishes here
  • Wasn’t too shabby in Xfinity either with all four races being top 6 finishes
  • Nowhere near as dominant as last season but still fantastic
  • Coming into Sunday with three straight 6th or better finishes
  • Qualified in the front four rows in four straight
  • He’s led 19+ laps in each of the last three races entering Sunday
  • Another trip to Victory lane is near and this is probably the longest he’ll be at this type of track the rest of the season

Goodyear 400 Best Bet: Kevin Harvick Top 10 Finish -110

  • 12 straight top 10’s at Darlington
  • 2 wins during that stretch
  • Has finished the last seven races here 6th or better
  • 2 straight top 10’s this season entering Sunday
  • Most importantly, he’s staying clean and has finished every race except for the Daytona 500 and Bristol Dirt.
