Methodology
We used ESPN to get the home and away records for the previous five seasons for the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, and NCAAM.
Using this data, we calculated the total number of home games and away games for each team during each season, and divided the number of home wins by the total home games played to get a percentage of the games won at home.
We then created an average of the percentage of home wins over the last five seasons, before subtracting the average away win percentage from the average home win percentage. Using this, we were able to get our overall percentage for each sport, to reveal which teams had the best home advantage.
We repeated this process for the away record, to find out which teams performed the best away from home.
