Picking MLB games is a difficult and tiring task with shaky bullpens, weird extra inning rules, and the natural state of the game. One way to attack the sport and have fun while you’re at it is by betting MLB player props. With that in mind, I found a couple of my favorite props for today’s schedule of games and gave a quick explanation as to why I’m betting them below. Check out my MLB Player Props of the day.
MLB Player Props of the day – Thursday, July 14th
Anibel Sanchez Over 2.5 ER Allowed (-140, Draftkings) Bet 2u to win 1.43u
Sanchez is not only making his 2022 debut, but also taking the mound for the first time since 2020. When we did last see him, Sanchez had an ERA of 6.62 and had allowed 3 ER or more in nine of his eleven starts on the season. Furthering the support of going over this prop today is that Sanchez had struggled against a worse Atlanta during his last two seasons in Washington. He had given up 3 ER or more in 4 of his last 5 outings against them and I highly doubt his time away from the game has improved his abilities.

Carlos Santana Over 0.5 Hits (-215, Draftkings) Bet 3u to win 1.41u
Santana has seen his production improve since rejoining the Mariners in late June. In the 14 games with Seattle, Carlos is hitting .267 and he’s upped his season BA by ten points. The switch hitter has at least one hit in six of his last eight games and tonight gets LHP Martin Perez who Carlos has hit really well throughout his career.
As a matter of fact, over his entire career, Santana has hit all lefties really well compiling a BA of .278 against them as opposed to .229 vs. RHP. In 2022 this split has become more dramatic with him batting .321 vs. LHP and .196 against right-handers. All numbers steering me towards the over tonight, especially against Martin Perez who’s allowed 7 hits and at least 3 ER in three straight starts.
