Oh boy, last night was a tough one. 0-2. I still like the bets and the thought process behind them. The Penguins were well on their way to closing out the Rangers, then Sidney Crosby takes a big hit, doesn’t return, there’s the spark the Rangers need and they come back. Calgary got the win and got themselves to 3 goals, but decided to sleep walk through two periods and come alive in the 3rd for a 3-1 win. One bad beat and another tough loss, but we’re moving on. It’s likely the last night of the Stanley Cup Playoffs that we’ll have four games on, so let’s cherish it! Here’s to hoping we get a couple of Game 7’s. Back on FanDuel for the odds tonight. 2-Leg ML Parlay: Bruins (-125) & Lightning (-137)

As much as I’d like the Hurricanes to close out this series in 6 and keep my 4-leg series parlay alive, that matchup really has the feeling of 7 games. Carolina is the deeper, better overall team and I do think ultimately they advance to the next round. But Boston has something Carolina lacks: true superstars. Brad Marchand is more capable of taking over a game than anyone in that series. Don’t get me wrong, Carolina is great and has some awesome players, but we haven’t seen anyone take over games like Marchand did in Games 3 & 4. I think the Marchand, Bergeron, Pastrnak trio wills Boston to Game 7 where they ultimately fall.

As for the other Eastern Conference game, how can you not take Tampa? I’ve been on Tampa to win the series and to win exactly 4-3. Maybe it’s time to start hedging, especially with Toronto being underdogs tonight. But I just don’t think I can bet against Tampa, and it’s a bet I can live with losing. Tampa hasn’t lost back-to-back playoffs games since getting swept in 2019. 9-0 in their last 9 games coming off a loss in the playoffs. Also, this has just been an awesomely fun series that deserves a Game 7. I’ll probably be taking both of these moneylines separately as well.

Connor McDavid Over 0.5 Goals (+116) vs Kings

McDavid had some strong words for his team after the Game 5 overtime loss to the Kings put them in a 3-2 series hole saying 4 goals has to be enough to win in the Playoffs. And he’s right. Especially against a team like the Kings that are a good team, but not the most high flying offense. Expect McDavid to lead by example tonight. If you’re going to put your team on notice (even if it’s deserving), you have go back it up yourself. McDavid has all series with 9 points through 5 games. I think he will again tonight. I’ll probably even take a little McDavid 1st Goal scorer as well. Don’t know if the Oilers will win tonight, but I do expect McDavid to do everything in his power to take the series back to Edmonton for Game 7.
