On the bright side, we hit it big last night going 2-0 (well, 3-0 on overall picks) with our +211 Eastern Conference parlay and Connor McDavid to score a goal, and hopefully you sprinkled that first goal scorer market too! On the contrary, I don’t love following up a perfect night with a Friday the 13th. 3 more chances to close out series tonight, hopefully we get a Game 7 or two out of this bunch. I don’t usually have Saturday picks, but with a trio of Game 7s tomorrow I’ll have something out. Thank you Lightning, Thank you Bruins, Thank you Connor McDavid. Back on FanDuel for my odds tonight, if you haven’t signed up with them yet you can do so HERE and not only will you get a risk free bet up to $1,000, but through Thursday, May 19th you can get a FREE subscription to Betsperts Golf. Onto the picks.

Aleksander Barkov Over 3.5 SOG (+124) vs Capitals

What a game we were treated to in Game 5 in this series. It looked like the Caps were going to stun the hockey world and roll to a 3-2 series lead going up 3-0 until the Panthers stormed back for 5 unanswered goals and a 5-3 win. The Panthers showed many times in the regular season, it doesn’t matter what the score is, they’re never out of a game. On of the biggest reasons: their best player and Captain, Aleksander Barkov. The longer series go on, the more important your best players being your best players becomes. Barkov has done that. He’s gone over 3.5 shots on goal in 4 of the 5 games this series including 6 shots in Game 5. I like betting that he’ll take initiative again tonight in a close out situation against a good Caps team

Flames ML & Under 5.5 vs Stars in Regulation (+250)

I learned my lesson in Game 5 with these two teams, I won’t be taking anything with the word “over” in it this series. The Flames have been hard to get a read on in much of this series, but we saw the best version of themselves in Game 4, the last game in Dallas. If it wasn’t for an amazing effort from Jake Oettinger in net, this one could have been 6-1. In Game 5, Dallas completely shut down Calgary’s offense through two periods but could only take a 1-0 lead into the 3rd. The Flames figured out a way to score enough to win. I think Calgary is the better team, I think the Game 5 loss is disheartening for Dallas. Give me the Flames and the under.

That’s it for the picks for now. I’m not going anywhere near Rangers/Penguins until we have a Sidney Crosby announcement, and even then I might stay away. The Rangers are just too unpredictable. Follow along with me on Twitter (@mrooney23) and on Betsperts (@Matt_Rooney). Good luck with your bets!
