The Avs and Blues gave us yet another thriller last night. It looked for awhile like Ville Husso might steal one for St. Louis as the Avs dominated play but struggled to find an equalizer trailing 2-1. They eventually did, then as the game looked like it was headed to OT tied a 2, Darren Helm broke the tie with 5 seconds left on the clock to send the Avs to the Western Conference Final. We have another Game 6 tonight with the road team in a position to close out. Can Carolina get their first road win of the playoffs and close out the Rangers? I’m on FanDuel for my odds today. If you haven’t signed up with them yet you can do that HERE and get a risk free bet up to $1,000. Onto the picks.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Alt. Under 5 (+122) & Hurricanes ML (-102)

What a contrast this series has been to the Battle of Alberta or even to Blues vs Avalanche. The highest total any game has seen in this series has been 5 goals. The losing team has only scored 1 or 0 goals in each game thus far. Both teams have goaltenders playing very well and are solid defensively. As boring as it might seem, with how this series has gone and with how Carolina has looked on the road I think the Under is the right play, but the under 5.5 is at -142 and there’s not a ton of value there. Let’s sell the hook, drop it down to 5 and root for goalies and the clock at plus money. As for the Canes ML, this game truly does feel like a tossup but I think the Canes are the better team and eventually have to get a road win. New York has given them a harder time at home than Boston did, so they don’t want to swing this back to Raleigh for Game 7 especially with Igor Shesterkin playing as well as he has been.

Mika Zibanejad to Score a Goal (+198)

Against Pittsburgh, Zibanejad was held off the scoreboard for the first 4 games of the series until he broke out and finished the series with 3 goals in 2 games. In the first 2 games of this series, Zibanejad was held off the scoreboard and now has 3 goals in his last 3 games. Zibanejad gets better as series go on, and he’s scored a ton of big goals for the Rangers in his career. I’m not sure the Rangers win tonight, but I do think Zibanejad makes an impact and finds the net.
