Well I said I could live with being wrong on the Lightning, and well, I was wrong. The Lightning still somehow managed to give themselves a chance to tie late, but wow did the Rangers dominate after the Lightning jumped out to that early 1-0 lead. I’d say Igor Shesterkin was amazing, and while he made some nice saves, he was really never really challenged much throughout Game 2. The Rangers controlled play, got shots on Vasilevskiy, and made Tampa look uncomfortable with their speed. Interested to see how the Lightning respond in Game 3 at home.

Like the Lightning in Game 3, the Oilers tonight come home down 0-2 and need a big effort. It’s hard to imagine Colorado not going back home up at least 3-1. Colorado really dominated play in Game 2 allowing just 24 shots on goal including a combined 11 in the 2nd and 3rd Period. We’ll see how the Oilers play tonight with their back up against the wall. Oilers 1st Period Result (+190)

It’s hard to imagine the Oilers starting out slow tonight. Coming home down 0-2 in a virtual must win scenario, I’d expect a fast start from Edmonton. The Oilers have started pretty fast both nights grabbing the first goal in Game 1 and recording 13 shots on goal in the 1st Period of Game 2. We saw in Game 1 how fast the Oilers are capable of playing, and at home with the home crowd behind them that’s the type of start I’d expect. They might not win the game, but I think they start fast and take a lead into the locker room.

First Goal Scorer: McDavid (+1100), Kane (+1300), Nugent-Hopkins (+2000)

For similar logic to the last bet, I think the Oilers start out fast and furious. Colorado will be without Darcy Kuemper most likely again tonight, and while Francouz recorded a shutout in Game 2 at home, he wasn’t really tested much. Like I said, I think the Oilers come out flying so why not throw a few darts at some first goal scorer props.
