The NBA Playoffs are here and there are a few surprise contenders in the West. One team, in particular, has one of the best young players in the league and looks ready to announce their presence. We’re headed to Tennessee where the Memphis Grizzlies and Ja Morant look to make their first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history.
The Griz finished 56-26 in the regular season (2nd, Western Conference). This tied them with the 2012-’13 team for wins in a season. Ja Morant took his next step to greatness and averaged 27.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.7 rebounds on the season. As a team, they finished 2nd in scoring average (115.6/gm) and 12th in scoring defense (109.9/gm). They finished the regular season winning 12 of their last 16 games and Morant missed 10 of those. This is a complete team, and they’re in a great spot to challenge Phoenix in the West.
Ticket of the Day
Memphis Grizzlies to Win the Western Conference – 6.90/1 ($1273.00) $10,503.91
Ja Morant’s return to full health should scare the rest of the West and the NBA this postseason. They went 36-16 against the West this season and played really well against the top teams in the conference. Overall, they went 11-7 against the other top six teams and only had a .500 or below record against Dallas. Memphis has shown they can defeat the best in the West and the price is right on them. Almost 7/1 for them to rep the West is far better than the best odds of 6/1 currently at sportsbooks. Jump on this now before they reach the inevitable Conference Finals matchup against the Suns.
