Nascar Odds, Picks, & Predictions for Illinois: Will Kyle Busch be smiling after the Enjoy Illinois 300?

Kyle Busch introduction at the Coca-Cola 600

In this season of firsts, Nascar adds another as it heads to World Wide Technology Raceway, better known as Gateway for the first Cup Series race at the track. The green flag drops for the Enjoy Illinois 300 presented by TicketSmarter this Sunday, June 5th at 3:30 pm et. Before revealing my betting card for this Sunday’s race, let’s do a quick recap of what wound up being the most exciting event of Nascar’s season to date.

Holy crap that was long but extremely exciting. The Coca-Cola 600 was the longest race in Nascar history at 619.5 miles long, and it took two overtimes to finish the race. Early issues meant almost nothing as this race included four stages and drivers were able to recover from problems with the many cautions that transpired. Kyle Larson’s day epitomized this as he had multiple problems on pit row, his car caught on fire, and he still found his way to the front really late.

Like the race itself, our Coca-Cola 600 betting card ran into some issues early as while running inside the top 10, Austin Cindric lost a tire and had to retire after only 145 laps. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ran inside the top 10 and ahead of Austin Dillon the entire race until the first restart. It’s here where Dillon, on four fresh tires, made his move for the win but wound up losing control and crashing, finishing 22nd to Stenhouse’s 7th. We hit our best bet of Christopher Bell to top 10 as he finished 5th. And best of all, Denny Hamlin held off teammate Kyle Busch on the last overtime restart and cashed our outright of +950! It was a 3-1 card in Charlotte so let’s hope the winning continues this week with my Enjoy Illinois 300 betting card.
