Nascar’s regular-season get’s restarted this Sunday, May 27th with the Coca-Cola 600. The green flag at Charlotte Motor Speedway drops around 6 pm et for this 400 lap event. Check out a quick Race Preview from earlier in the week here. Before we move on to Nascar’s longest event of the season, let’s do a very quick recap of our tiny All-Star Race betting card.

Nascar All-Star Race Betting Recap

Nothing like a little controversy during an exhibition event but that’s exactly what we had at the Nascar All-Star Race. Kyle Busch was the best car on track leading the first 47 laps until the biggest issue of 2022, TIRES!, bit him and our betting card in the a$$. Ross Chastain chose to go low in an attempt to avoid Busch’s slowing car but wound up using him as a ramp. Ross the boss, launched himself up the track and wound up crushing Chase Elliott and our whole two bet card for the race. It’s alright, that encapsulated exactly why we didn’t go heavy at the sportsbook. On to the real racing, and the Coca-Cola 600 we go.

Odds, Picks, Predictions – Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway

*Odds Current at time of publication

Top 10 Finish: Austin Cindric +155

  • Last two Xfinity races at Charlotte were 3rd & 2nd place finishes
  • Avg finish of 5.5 in the last 11 races at Texas, Kansas, & Las Vegas in the Xfinity Series
  • He along with the entire Penske team has looked great the last two weeks
  • Finished 3rd at the All-Star Race & 11th at Kansas
  • Qualified Top 5 at both Vegas and Kansas this year which if he follows suit here, would send these odds inside even for sure.

Driver Matchup: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. -112 Over Austin Dillon

  • Ricky Bobby Stenhouse Jr. is trying for his 4th straight Top 10 finish this week
  • Austin Dillon finished 9th at Darlington for his only T10 in over the last three races
  • Stenhouse finished 21st to Dillon’s 11th at Las Vegas this season but it was a late pit penalty that sent Ricky to the rear of the field
  • Dillon has two top 10’s in the last three races at Charlotte while Stenhouse has one
  • However, Stenhouse seems to stay on track here having ran all but 3 laps the last 10 trips here while Dillon has crashed or had significant problems on three occurrences causing him to finish outside the top 30

Outright: Denny Hamlin +950

  • Runner-up to Ryan Blaney in last weekends All-Star Race
  • Has been really good at 1.5’s this year finishing 4th at Kansas
  • Prior to wrecking himself at Las Vegas, he was the fastest car on track, leading 31 laps
  • Last two races at Charlotte resulted in 2nd and 7th place finishes
  • Charlotte is Denny’s best 1.5 with an average finish of 12.3 but it’s one of two tracks on the current Nascar schedule that he’s raced 20+ times and not won (Fontana).

Coca-Cola 600 Best Bet: Christopher Bell Top 10 -135

  • He qualified on pole at both 1.5’s (Las Vegas & Kansas)
  • He finished 10th in Sin City, and 5th at Kansas
  • He’s actually qualified 9th or better in nine of the last eleven races this season
  • He’s finished 7th or better in six of the last eight races overall this season
  • Has a 9th place finish at this event back in 2020
  • This is my favorite value bet ahead of qualifying as this will plummet closer to -200 if he continues his dominant qualifying
