MLS Betting Odds, Picks, Predictions: Busy Slate of Wednesday Night Action

mls picks predictions

We get a rare treat tonight with a robust slate of mid-week MLS action. Up to this point in the season most mid-week games have been part of the US Open Cup and while those have featured some all-MLS matchups, they’ve also featured a heavy dose of MLS teams against teams from smaller leagues. Not tonight though, we get ten league games on a Wednesday. Here’s a quick look and picks for a few of the notable contests.

Odds from Betsperts.com

NYCFC at DC United Odds and Prediction

NYCFC +108 | DC United +220 | Draw +270

Over 2.5 (-127) | Under 2.5 (-107)

This being MLS where sometimes up is down and things don’t make sense, it may appear as if the defending champs are scuffling a bit, but even though NYCFC is in sixth place currently, they’re just three points off the top of the table with games in hand against the top two teams in the East and their +11 goal differential is tops in the conference by a LOT. DC United has had trouble keeping opponents off the score sheet as of late allowing multiple goals in six of their last eight games. This isn’t a tough travel spot for NYCFC so I’d expect them to have the legs for this game and to see some goals.

PickOver 2.5 (-127)

Inter Miami at Philadelphia Union Odds and Prediction

Inter Miami +575 | Philadelphia Union -220 | Draw +330

Over 2.5 (-134) | Under 2.5 (+100)

You may have heard rumors that Messi is coming to Inter Miami next year with a stake in ownership in the club and that would be great if it’s true, but isn’t going to change the fact that 2022 isn’t looking great for David Beckham’s outfit. Inter Miami is one point from the bottom of the Eastern Conference and only Sporting KC has a worse goal differential in the league. It’s been a tale of two seasons for the Union who were unbeaten in their first six games of the season and are winless in their last six, yet they sit tied for first in the conference. With Montreal facing a tough road game in Nashville tonight this is a chance for Philly to go to the top of the table so expect them to try and put it on Miami tonight.

PickUnion -220

CF Montreal at Nashville SC Odds and Prediction

CF Montreal +310 | Nashville SC -110 | Draw +235

Over 2.5 (+116) | Under 2.5 (-157)

This is one of the most intriguing games on the schedule as the East’s surprising co-leader Montreal hits the road against a Nashville team that is trying to make up ground because of an unbalanced schedule. Nashville played its first eight matches of the season on the road as their new stadium Geodis Park was preparing to open. Nashville is going to need a good boost from its home crowd as they’re playing their fifth game in 18 days because of the US Open Cup. Montreal has won three straight games and are unbeaten in their last nine. This should be a tight game so we’re going with a bit of a curveball here.

PickDraw +235

Austin FC at LAFC Odds and Prediction

Austin FC +500 | LAFC -215 | Draw +360

Over 3.5 (+112) | Under 3.5 (-150)

This is the best game of the night if you’re going by the standings and the firepower on the field backs that up. LAFC is coming off a loss this weekend, but still sits atop the Western Conference one point ahead of Dallas. Austin is the biggest surprise in the league this season sitting just three points behind LAFC in third place. These are the two highest scoring teams in the league with 23 goals in 11 games for both. LAFC will relish playing in Banc of California Stadium so they are expected to win and should, but the price is too high for me. These are teams that can score but are also prone to giving up some goals so expect to see some fireworks.

PickOver 3.5 (+112)
