Your zodiac sign can tell you a lot about your personality, as well as the different zodiac signs you’re most likely to get along with. While they can’t tell you whether your next sports bet is going to be a winner, we wanted to find out whether your zodiac sign could affect your chances of becoming an NBA, NFL, MLB, or NHL player.
We’ve looked at the zodiac signs of every player across America’s four major sports to find out which zodiac signs are most likely to compete amongst the best of the best.
We’ve also looked at the players with the most All-Star appearances in each sport, so you can see what each zodiac sign’s chances of making an All-Star team are.
Sports Most Common Zodiac Signs
We took a look at which zodiac sign made up the biggest percentage of players in each of the big four professional leagues. The NFL had the biggest leader with nearly twelve percent of its players being Aries.
Sports Least Common Zodiac Signs
We also looked at the other end of the spectrum and found which signs made up the smallest percentage of the pros for each league. The NBA gave us the smallest, with only one in twenty NBA players having been born a Capricorn.
Most Common Zodiac signs among NFL Players
We’ve looked at all the NFL players to find out which zodiac sign makes up the biggest proportion of NFL players.
Aries – 11.5% of all NFL players
The zodiac sign that makes up the largest proportion of NFL players is Aries, with 11.5% of all pro football players having that zodiac sign. This is also the highest percentage for a single zodiac sign in any of the four major US sports. The Las Vegas Raiders’ Derek Carr, the Los Angeles Rams’ Baker Mayfield, and the Carolina Panthers’ D.J. Moore are among some of the top NFL players with the Aries zodiac sign.
Leo – 10.5% of all NFL players
Leo takes second place with 10.5% of all NFL players having that zodiac sign. The Minnesota Vikings’ Dalvin Cook, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Tom Brady, and the Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Mixon are some of the top players with the Leo zodiac sign.
Scorpio – 10.1% of all NFL players
Scorpio completes our top three with 10.1% of all NFL players having that zodiac sign. Some of the best Scorpio talents include the Baltimore Ravens’ Justin Tucker, the Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown, and the San Francisco 49ers’ Jimmy Garoppolo
Most Common Zodiac signs among NBA Players
We’ve looked at all the NBA players to find out which zodiac sign makes up the biggest proportion of NBA players.
Pisces – 10.7% of all NBA players
The most common zodiac signs amongst NBA players are shared between two signs, and one of them is Pisces. The Pisces zodiac sign makes up 10.7% of all NBA players. Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic, the LA Lakers’ Anthony Davis, and the Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry are some of the top picks from the talented Pisces pool.
Cancer – 10.7% of all NBA players
In a joint top spot with Pisces is Cancer, which also makes up 10.7% of all NBA players. The LA Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard, the Milwaukee Bucks’ Thanasis Antetokounmpo, and the Minnesota Timberwolves Rudy Gobert are some of the best players with the Cancer zodiac sign.
Virgo – 10.3% of all NBA players
Virgo is the second most common zodiac sign out of all NBA players. Virgos make up 10.3% of the league, just 0.4% behind Cancer and Pisces. The Philadelphia 76ers’ James Harden, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell, and the Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler are some of Virgo’s best talent.
Most Common Zodiac signs among MLB Players
We’ve looked at every MLB player’s birthday to find out which zodiac sign has the biggest representation in the ranks of professional baseball players.
Virgo – 10.3% of all MLB players
Virgo is the most common zodiac sign out of all MLB players with a 10.3% share of the league. The Miami Marlins’ Sandy Alcantara, the Cleveland Guardians’ Jose Ramirez, and the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Max Muncy are some of the best MLB players with the Virgo zodiac sign.
Cancer – 9.3% of all MLB players
Cancer is the second most common zodiac sign out of all MLB players, making up 9.3% of the league. The Chicago White Sox’s Lucas Giolito, the Los Angeles Angels’ Shohei Ohtani, and the San Diego Padres’ Manny Machado are some of Cancer’s finest MLB players.
Taurus – 9.2% of all MLB players
Taurus completes our top three with a 9.2% share of all MLB players. The Texas Rangers’ Corey Seager, the Chicago White Sox’s Lance Lynn, and the Houston Astros’ Jose Altuve are some of Taurus’ best MLB players.
Most Common Zodiac signs among NHL Players
We’ve looked at every NHL player’s birthday to find out which zodiac sign comprised the largest chunk of NHL players today.
Taurus – 10.9% of all NHL players
Those with the Taurus zodiac sign make up the largest proportion of all NHL players, with a 10.9% slice of the total. The Toronto Maple Leafs’ Mitch Marner, the Minnesota Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov, and the Boston Bruins’ Brad Marchand are some of the top Taurus players to play in the NHL.
Aquarius – 10.6% of all NHL players
The second most common zodiac sign in the NHL is Aquarius, which makes up 10.6% of all NHL athletes. Some of the top Aquarius’ to play in the NHL include the New York Rangers’ Adam Fox, Tampa Bay Lightning’s Steven Stamkos, and the Carolina Hurricanes’ Sebastian Aho.
Gemini – 9.5% of all NHL players
Gemini completes our top three with 9.5% of all NHL players born under this zodiac sign. Some of the top Geminis in the NHL include the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Nikita Kucherov, the Nashville Predators’ Roman Josi, and the Calgary Flames’ Jonathan Huberdeau.
Which Star Signs are most common among All-Stars?
After finding out which zodiac signs were the most common among all players, we dug in a little further to see which zodiac signs were most common amongst the players with the most All-Star appearances.
We looked at the top 20 athletes with the most All-Star appearances and found out the most common zodiac sign in each sport. The NFL had the biggest percentage of all athletes, with 15% of athletes born under the zodiac signs Aries and Leo.

Again, we also looked at the other end, seeing which zodiac signs were the least common in the ranks of the all-stars across the professional leagues.
Most Common Zodiac signs among NFL All-Stars
Leo/Aries – 15% of all NFL All-Stars
The common zodiac sign to appear in the NFL Pro Bowl game is split between Leo and Aries. Both zodiac signs made up 15% of all NFL All-Stars. Leo had the most Pro Bowl appearances with 40, which was more than any other zodiac sign. Aries only had 36. The 40 Pro Bowl appearances were split by Tom Brady, Bruce Matthews, and Jonathan Ogden.
Most Common Zodiac signs among NBA All-Stars
Taurus/Leo/Gemini/Aries – 13.0% of all NBA All-Star
The most common zodiac sign out of the NBA All-Stars in our list is shared between four different zodiac signs – Taurus, Leo, Gemini, and Aries. Each zodiac sign made up 13.0% of the NBA All-Stars. The players with the Taurus zodiac sign had 42 appearances between them, split between Chris Paul, Kevin Garnett, and Tim Duncan.
Most Common Zodiac signs among MLB All-Stars
Virgo/Leo – 13.6% of all MLB All-Star
The most common zodiac sign amongst MLB All-Stars is shared between two zodiac signs, Virgo and Leo. Both zodiac signs made up 13.6% of the All-Stars on our list. Virgo had the most appearances out of any zodiac sign, with 41. This was split between Carl Ripken Jr, Mike Piazza, and Randy Johnson.
Most Common Zodiac signs among NHL All-Stars
Cancer/Taurus/Aquarius/Capricorn – 14.3% of all NHL All-Star
The most common zodiac signs out of the NHL All-Stars in our list is split between four, Cancer, Taurus, Aquarius, and Capricorn. All four zodiac signs have a 14.3% chance of making the All-Star squad. Out of the four zodiac signs, it was Capricorn which had the most appearances at 43, split between Ray Bourque, Jeremy Roenick, and Mark Messier.

Methodology
- For the NBA, we used Basketball Noise to get each player’s birthday.
- For the NFL, we used NFL Birthdays to get each player’s birthday.
- For the NHL, we used KSL to get each player’s birthday.
- For the MLB, we used Newsday to get each player’s birthday.
We used Allure to match up the player’s date of birth to their zodiac sign, before calculating the percentage of players under each zodiac sign and using this figure to determine the zodiac signs most likely to become NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL players.
To find the zodiac signs with the best of all all-star players, we used the top 20 players with the most all-star appearances, before repeating the process explained above.
