We had ourselves a nice 2-0 day to start out the week yesterday! The Astros absolutely cruised by the Tigers in the 1st Half, touching up Eduardo Rodriguez to the tune of 5 ER on 10 Hits through 5.0 IP while Framber Valdez went the distance for a complete game shutout striking out 8. Although the Braves couldn’t bring home a win in their game at San Francisco, Spencer Strider did more than enough to cash his prop racking up 9 Ks through 5.0 innings of work. Brian and I are on FanDuel and Caesars for our Top MLB Prop Bets for September 13th.

Top MLB Prop Bets for September 13th
Yankees vs Red Sox Over 8.5 (-106)
Taking an over in a game Gerrit Cole is pitching seems like a risk, but with how this season has gone for him against the Red Sox and in Boston, it seems worth a shot. In his one start at Fenway this season, he allowed 5 ER and 2 HR in 6 IP. And in 3 total starts against the Red Sox, he’s allowed 10 ER in 17.0 IP.
The Yankees offense seems to be bouncing back as well after a lull, putting up 10 runs in each of the last two games. Boston’s offense has been very up and down, so it seems a little risky, but at close to even money, let’s roll the dice and add this to our Top MLB Prop Bets for September 13th.
Mariners 1st Half ML (+102) vs Padres
I was going back and forth between this and 1st Half under 3.5, but decided to settle on the Mariners. Seattle is playing some really good baseball down the stretch, and Logan Gilbert is on the mound for them tonight. Gilbert has been getting better down the stretch of the season recording 5 quality starts in his last 5 outings. In his last two outings, he didn’t let up a run in a combined 12.0 IP.
It’s Yu Darvish on the mound for San Diego, he’s been solid in his last 5 outings, but allowed 3+ runs in 4 of them including 3 solo HRs in his last time out. Darvish hasn’t been bad by any stretch lately, Gilbert has just been better. The Mariners are also playing good baseball coming off taking 2 of 3 against the Braves while the Padres just dropped 2 of 3 to the Dodgers.
Aaron Judge HR (+215)
The MLB home run leader has gone five consecutive games and over 24 plate appearances without a HR. This streak has a great shot to end tonight against the Red Sox as Boston starts righty Nick Pivetta. Judge is 3-for-6 with a HR off the RHP already this season and although the ball isn’t leaving the yard, Aaron is crushing right now. The AL MVP front runner is batting over .450 in the month of September and is overdue for a dinger. The odds are short, but considering he’s gone deep 55 times this year, I’m more than happy to add this as one of our top MLB Prop Bets for September 13th.

Jordan Montgomery Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-137, Caesars)
As a Yankees fan, I’m still sour about the trade sending Monty to St. Louis for Harrison Bader who hasn’t even played yet by the way. That said, it’s freaking awesome see him flourish for Cardinals. Jordan has been lights out over his 7 starts, recording the win in five of them and pitching to a 1.45 ERA in the process.
Pitching in the NL against teams unfamiliar with him has also bumped his strikeout numbers a bit. He’s K’d 6 or more batters in four of his seven starts with St. Louis and that is more such games than he had prior to joining the team. The Brewers have struck out the 4th most times and have been atrocious against LHP. Monty already K’d 8 Milwaukee batters back in August and I’m pretty confident he dominates them once again.
