MLB Player Props: Best MLB Player Props – July 22nd

Max Scherzer pitching at Citi Field

Picking MLB games is a complex and tiring task with shaky bullpens, weird extra inning rules, and the natural state of the game. One way to attack the sport and have fun while we’re at it is by betting MLB player props. With that in mind, I found a couple of my favorites for today’s schedule of games and gave a quick explanation as to why I’m betting them below. Check out my MLB Player Props of the day.

MLB Player Props of the day – Friday, July 22nd

Aaron Judge Over 0.5 Runs (-175, DraftKings) Bet 2u to win 1.14u

Like many other Yankees hitters, Judge has some excellent numbers against Baltimore throughout his career. The big righty is hitting .301, has hit 32 HR, knocked in 71, and scored 82 times in 81 career games against the O’s. This season, Aaron has crossed home plate 13 times in the 12 matchups and is batting .333 in 45 ABs.

Tonight the MVP front runner is batting in his customary 2nd spot in the lineup which has helped him touch home plate an MLB-leading 76 times already. He has a favorable matchup against Orioles righty Tyler Wells who he’s 4-for-7 against in 2022. And with Anthony Rizzo, Gio Stanton, and Josh Donaldson all hitting behind him, once on base, the chances of him scoring are great. Oh, and he’s always a threat to knock himself in as he leads baseball with 34 homers so far this season.

Max Scherzer Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-102, Fanduel) Bet 2u to win 1.96u

Mad Max returned to the Mets’ rotation on July 5th and has looked fantastic. He has pitched 6+ innings and recorded 9+ strikeouts in all three while only allowing 3 combined runs. Tonight he’s going against a familiar foe from last year, the Padres. Scherzer struck out 8+ Friars in three of his five starts in 2021 and has gone over this prop in 10 of his last 12 starts, dating back to 2014, against San Diego.

The Padres have been better than average in terms of striking out, but are susceptible against top-tier pitchers like Scherzer. Max had some extra rest over the All-Star break and has been too good to not go over on this number.
