MLB Player Props: Best Baseball Player Props for August 8th

Matt Chapman hitting an RBI single against the Cardinals at home

Picking MLB games is a complex and tiring task with shaky bullpens, weird extra inning rules, and the natural state of the game. One way to attack the sport and have fun while you’re at it, is by betting MLB player props. We went 2-2 with our Friday props and finished the week up around 3 units. Let’s keep the positive vibes rolling and start this week off with a couple of winners. Check out my choices for the Best Baseball Player Props for August 8th.

Matt Chapman to get a Hit (-175, Fanduel) Bet 2u to win 1.14u

Chapman has been much improved since the beginning of July and the All-Star break didn’t slow him down either. He’s batting .274 with 29 hits since the beginning of last month and batting .302 with 16 hits during the 15 games since the All-Star break. He has a nice matchup tonight against Jordan Lyles who he’s 6-for-13 with 3 HR against the last two seasons. Lyles has surrendered 5+ hits in 20 or his 22 starts this year including against the Blue Jays back in back in June. Chapman obviously sees Jordan very well, and could catch him in stressful situations with runners on making it more likely he records a hit.

Ian Happ: Over 0.5 Hits (-208, Caesars) Bet 3u to win 1.44u

I like betting trends and also taking advantage of plus matchups. If you’ve followed along with my picks, you’d know I bet against Anibal Sanchez and the Nats whenever possible. With that, attacking Cubs hitter props are the play tonight and I’m going with Ian Happ.

Happ is having a decent season for a bad Chicago team and has been heating up since the All-Star break. In the 14 games since then, he’s batting .281 with 16 total hits and at least 1 hit in 10 of the games. Washington’s pitching struggles along with Sanchez’s inability to avoid contact have been well documented by me and many others so going I’m fairly confident the Cubs hitters should produce tonight. Let’s hope for my sake it’s Ian making me and anyone who tails, Happ(y)… haha.
