Picking MLB games is a complex and tiring task with shaky bullpens, weird extra inning rules, and the natural state of the game. One way to attack the sport and have fun while you’re at it, is by betting MLB player props. I shopped the player prop market and found my favorite MLB player props for today’s schedule of games. Check out my choices for the Best Baseball Player Props for August 2nd.
Best Baseball Player Props for August 2nd
Jacob deGrom Under 6.5 Ks (+120, Fanduel) Bet 2u to win 2.44u
deGrom will be making his 2022 debut tonight against the now Juan Soto(less) Nationals. He threw just 67 pitches in his final rehab outing and with Washington throwing a depleted lineup out there, one could expect the Mets to be cautious with their ace. He did go over this prop in 12 of his 15 starts last season including a 15 K performance against Washington but it’s his first Major League start in over a year. He’s easily one of baseball’s top pitchers but I’m expecting a little rust and a little quicker leash than normal.
Jonathan Schoop to get a Hit (-200, Fanduel) Bet 3u to win 1.50u
Schoop is hitting just .208 on the season but he had a really good July batting .268 with 26 hits in 97 ABs. He’s recorded a hit in four of his last six games and faces a pitcher he’s hit well in the past tonight. Schoop has 16 hits in 44 career ABs (.364 BA) against tonight’s Twins starter Chris Archer and is 1-for-4 against the RHP this season. Archer has been really bad in his last two outings, allowing a total of 7 walks, 8 hits, and surrendering 10 runs during those starts. Schoop’s 2022 has been one to forget but he should fare well tonight.
