Picking MLB games is a complex and tiring task with shaky bullpens, weird extra inning rules, and the natural state of the game. One of the best ways to attack the sport and have fun in the process, is by betting MLB player props. Yesterday wasn’t the worst day of late as we split our player props so there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully, today starts a strong finish to the week for us. Here are my choices for the Best Baseball Player Props for August 25th.

Best Baseball Player Props for August 25th
Jacob deGrom Over 9.5 K (EVEN, PointsBet) Bet 1u to win 1u
The alien as teammate Chris Bassitt referred to him has looked outer-worldly since debuting. Through 23 ⅓ innings, deGrom has a 2.31 ERA, .514 WHIP, and has struck out 37 hitters! More impressively, he’s K’d 9+ batters in his last three, and 10+ in two of four starts on the year.
Tonight he’s facing a Rockies team who only rosters one guy with a substantial history against him and it’s not a good one. Jacob is in another stratosphere compared to his peers and is averaging around 14K/9 since the beginning of 2020. Betting a pitcher to pile up double-digit strikeouts is always dangerous, but deGrom is not a normal pitcher, and he’s looked unhittable outside of his second start against the Braves.
Kyle Schwarber Over 0.5 HR (+230, Fanduel) Bet 1u to win 2.30u
The Schwarbs ranks 2nd in MLB with 34 HR on the season but he’s been ice cold in August. In the 18 games Kyle has appeared in this month, the power-hitting lefty has hit just ONE four-bagger. He’s also riding a 14-game homerless streak which is by far his longest drought of the year.
One positive sign and a reason I like this prop tonight is that he’s batting .262 for the month (2nd best month all year), and way better against RHP. Justin Dunn is toeing the bump for Cincy and he’s been a launching pad for opposing hitters. Dunn has surrendered 5 HR over 13 ⅓ innings over his three starts this season.
Schwarber is due to go deep, and these are the best odds on the evening which made it easy for me to take a chance and add this to my list of best baseball player props for August 25th.
