Picking MLB games is a complex and tiring task with shaky bullpens, weird extra inning rules, and the natural state of the game. One of the best ways to attack the sport and have fun in the process, is by betting MLB player props. Well, the start to the week definitely didn’t go as planned with St. Louis scoring only 1 run and the Dodgers getting shut out consequently costing us our Prop Bets yesterday. We’ve dug ourselves our huge hole for the week, but have a few plays which could get us out. Here are my choices for the Best Baseball Player Props for August 23rd.

Best Baseball Player Props for August 23rd
Francisco Lindor Hit (-230, FanDuel) Bet 3u to win 1.29u
Lindor is one of the few Mets with experience against Frankie Montas and he’s hit him well. Francisco has 4 hits in 9 ABs against the hard-throwing righty who has been hit hard since donning the Pinstripes giving up 18 hits in his 14 innings so far. Lindor is riding an eight-game hitting streak into tonight and has recorded at least one hit in 20 of the teams 23 games in August.
Xander Bogaerts Hit (-240, FanDuel) Bet 3u to win 1.26u
The Boston SS is struggling this month, hitting just over .200, but he does have a hit in four of his last five games heading into tonight. He’ll also be facing a pitcher, Ross Stripling, who he’s 6-for-13 during his career and a Blue Jays team that he’s hitting .375 against over 13 games this season.
Yordan Alvarez Hit (-130) Bet 3u to win 1.29u & HR +265 (FD Bet 2u win 5.3u & RBI (+120, PointsBet) Bet 5u to win 6u
Yordan isn’t exactly crushing the ball at the moment but I think that changes tonight. Houston should feast off Twins starter Aaron Sanchez and Yordan has shown signs of exploding the last 10 games. Alvarez has a slash line of .294 with a HR and 6 RBI over this stretch and is looking healthier and healthier every game.
The Minnesota pitching staff has surrendered the 7th most homers so far this season, and that’s while playing in a division that boasts 3 of the 4 worst teams in regards to home runs hit. The ‘Stros have a deep lineup and Yordan could see multiple ABs with guys on base and he’s always a threat to go deep, as evidenced by his T-3rd most HR at 31. I’m going all in on the big lefty tonight as he tops my list for Best Baseball Player Props for August 23rd.
