Mets 1st Half Result (-125) vs Yankees

It’s important to note here that 1st Half result and 1st Half ML are different. 1st Half result means the Mets must be in the lead through the 1st 5 innings. With that said, I love backing Max Scherzer in a big game spot. Well, I love backing Max Scherzer in any game but especially one as big as this. The atmosphere in Queens was electric last night and I expect more of the same. Scherzer feeds of environments like that. Scherzer comes into this one having as good of a season as he’s ever been with a 2.29 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP. Looking at his splits, he’s also been pretty dominant through the 1st 5 innings as well. Giancarlo Stanton is now on the IL, Domingo German throws for the Yankees and he got lit up in his only start of the year. Give me Scherzer and the Mets early at home.

Twins vs Brewers 1st Half Under 4.5 (-134)

I love the pitching matchup in this one for a 1st Half under. Corbin Burnes throws for Milwaukee and is currently yet again an NL Cy Young candidate. Chris Archer is on the mound for Minnesota and he’s having a solid season as well, especially early on in games. Both of these offenses have been solid as of late, but I think good pitching prevails early in this one before the bullpens take over. The game total is set at 8, I didn’t mind that at -110 but anything can happen when bullpens get involved and you have two offenses hitting well. Settling for the safer play and trusting the starters.
