Mets -2.5 (+110) at Nationals

It’s Max Scherzer day for the Mets, which means were going to be backing them. Scherzer continues to be everything and more for the Mets this season, and if Jacob DeGrom comes back and stays healthy, it’s hard to see anyone gaining an advantage over the Mets in a playoff series with those two on the mound. The Mets offense has picked things up as of late averaging just under 6 runs per game over their last 5 outings. On the opposite side of the successful free agent pitcher spectrum, Patrick Corbin continues to be a brutal signing for the Nats. He’s got an ERA at 6.49 and a 1.77 WHIP to go along with his 4-14 record this season. Corbin has allowed 5+ ER in each of his last 3 starts. Take the plus money Mets odds here.

White Sox -1.5 (+115) at Royals & Under 8.5 (-110)

The White Sox have won two in a row to get themselves back to .500 and sit now just 2 games back of the Twins in the AL Central. On the mound today is Michael Kopech who was very solid in his first outing after the break in a hitter friendly park in Colorado. After struggling with the long ball for a bit, Kopech has kept the ball in the park in his last two starts and if he can do that again the Sox should be just fine against the reeling Royals. Brad Keller has had an up and down season and really an up and down career vs the White Sox. I might be putting on the clown makeup again, but the Sox have a matchup with a bad team and are as close to the division lead as they’ve been in quite some time going up against a pitcher they have a history against. I’m taking the Sox and the under.
