Will Smith Betsperts Media & Technology Top MLB Prop Bets for October 14th

We only got one playoff game yesterday thanks to a rainout in the Bronx, but boy did we get a good one. We were a perfect 3-3 on our Astros vs Mariners Game 2 bets yesterday thanks to some stellar early pitching and the Mariners taking care of business in the 1st 5 Innings. The Astros did come away with another late 4-2 comeback win to make that a 2-0 series lead headed back to Seattle, and now we have three playoff games today. Aaron Nola Over 6.5 K’s (-140, FanDuel) & Spencer Strider Over 3.5 K’s (-130, PointsBet)

It’s the all-important swing game between Atlanta and Philadelphia and both squads have horses on the mound. Spencer Strider is making his first start since a 6-inning, 1 hit, 1 run, with 10 strikeouts performance against these Phillies back on September 18th. While Aaron Nola makes his second start this postseason off a 6.2 inning outing against St. Louis where he gave up just 4 hits, no runs, and struck out 6.

Both of these guys topped 200 strikeouts on the season and pitched extremely well against each other’s teams. Nola has gone 6+ innings and struck out 7 or more Braves in all five starts against and comes into today having 8+ K’s in seven of his last 11 starts, including the postseason, since August. Strider hasn’t pitched since mid-September but absolutely dominated Philly this season going 4-0 with a 1.27 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 21.1 innings spanning four starts.

Nola should continue his ace-like tendencies and this prop is posted at 7.5 everywhere else. Strider’s number is a little more suspect as he’ll be closely monitored coming off an oblique injury but his number is 4.5 everywhere else and Philadelphia has K’d over 43% of all ABs against him. Let’s hope for an early pitcher’s duel in the City of Brotherly Love to help make our Top MLB Prop Bets for October 14th a fun and profitable card.

Will Smith 2+ Total Bases vs Padres (+150, FanDuel)

The Padres stole Game 2 on the road and come back home to San Diego with all of the momentum. Blake Snell throws for the Padres against Tony Gonsolin for the Dodgers so we should have ourselves a great pitching matchup. We’re going to ride with Will Smith and his 2+ total bases prop today for a couple of reasons.

Read more about Dodgers vs Padres

Will Smith has been pretty solid against Blake Snell in his career. In 16 at-bats against Snell, Will Smith has 5 hits which is good for a .313 batting average with a pair of extra-base hits and an OPS of .915. Smith has been pretty solid through two games this postseason as well with 3 hits in 9 at-bats with a pair of doubles. Even in his 1-for-5 performance in Game 2, he had a couple of hard-hit balls. The Dodgers have a great, star-studded lineup and Smith hits right in the middle of it, so he should get plenty of pitches to hit.
