The 2022 Men’s Final Four is set and as if the story was pre-written, we get the first-ever Duke/North Carolina Final Four matchup during Coach K’s last season. The other game pits winners of two of the last five titles Villanova against perennial contender Kansas. Before even thinking about a championship, these teams need to first get past one another in the Final Four. This season’s version is one of the most intriguing ever with four blue-blood programs and of course the first-ever Tobacco-Road rivalry game. Let’s check out the latest 2022 Final Four Odds

The Wildcats defeated two Big Ten schools (Ohio State, Michigan) and out-played surging Houston to reach New Orleans. In that Elite 8 game though, they suffered a brutal blow to their National Championship hopes with the loss of Justin Moore. He is the team’s 2nd leading scorer and along with Collin Gillespie, formed one of the nation’s top backcourts. Kansas is the only no. 1 seed to reach this point and did so in a convincing fashion against Miami in the Elite 8. The Jayhawks have seen Remy Martin return to form and look to be peaking at the right time. Villanova already played with one of the shortest benches and is now at an even bigger disadvantage.

8 North Carolina vs. 2 Duke

Love it or hate it, this is one of the most anticipated Final Four matchups of all-time. Not only is this Mike Krzyzewski’s swan song, but Hubert Davis is the first coach since 1998 to make the Final Four during his first season as head coach. In addition to all that, Duke has a chance to avenge their loss to the Tar Heels in the last game at Cameron Indoor for Coach K.

UNC’s path to New Orleans saw them roll Marquette, dominate Baylor and hang on late in OT, beat UCLA, and end the Peacocks cinderella run. Caleb Love, Brady Manek, and double-double machine Armondo Bacot have been on fire. Duke beat Tom “March” Izzo’s Spartans, the very tough Red Raiders, and dominated Arkansas on its way here. Their extremely talented team is playing their best basketball of the season and has elevated the Dukies to the favorite to cut down the nets on Monday night.
